About The British Library
The British Library is classed as the national library of
the UK founded in 1973 and holds the title for the second largest library in
the world due to the amount of items it holds that adding up to over 150
million from all over the world. The library is known for its large research
resources as it holds several different forms from print, digital, journals,
newspapers, sound and so on.
The library is a public place allowing people to use their
reading rooms to carry out research (as long as they apply for a reader pass). They
also hold a collection of British and Irish newspapers from as far back as 1840
due to the legal deposit legislation, a law which enabled newspapers to supply
and copy of each edition to the library.
The library also holds regular exhibitions throughout the
year, open to the public which are usually advertised online or via OOH advertisement
on buses and along Euston road on billboards.
